How do you decide between selective, push back, drive-in, and pallet flow racking?

It comes down to SKU count, pallets per SKU, and how fast product turns. Selective racking wins when you carry many SKUs with few pallets each and need every pallet reachable. Push back and drive-in make sense when you have deep lanes of the same item and want density over individual access, and pallet flow suits high-throughput FIFO picking. How much additional storage capacity can a redesigned layout realistically add?

Most Kansas City area buildings we look at are using far less of their cube than the operators expect. Tightening aisle widths to match the actual lift, resetting beam elevations to the real load heights, and moving slow movers into denser racking commonly adds 20 to 40 percent more pallet positions inside the same four walls. We quantify it on the layout so you can see the before and after count rather than take our word for it.

You send us pallet dimensions and weights, forklift type, clear height under the lowest obstruction, and rough SKU count. We come back with a CAD layout showing rack rows, aisle widths, beam elevations, and your total pallet positions, plus an itemized quote. There is no cost, no obligation, and the drawing is yours to keep even if you buy elsewhere.

Question 4

Do you handle installation, or do we need to arrange our own crew?

Accepted Answer

We coordinate installation throughout the Kansas City metro with installation teams we manage. Frames are anchored, plumbed, and leveled, rows are labeled, and capacity tags are posted before we hand the system over.

Question 5

Will installation shut down our receiving and shipping?

Accepted Answer

It should not. Most projects run in phases and can be scheduled evenings or weekends. Tell us which zones have to stay live and we sequence the work around your dock schedule.

Question 6

Can you relocate racking to a new building?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We dismantle, transport, and reinstall existing systems, and we redesign the layout for the new footprint rather than dropping the old plan into a different building. We will also tell you up front which components are worth hauling.
